Aphrodite

Aphrodite was the goddess of love, sexual, rapture and beauty. Venus was her name in roman mythology. She was born when Uranus was castrated by his son Cronus. He threw his genitals into the sea and from the sea foam surfaced the Goddess.

Other gods loved her because she was very beauthy and they started a war. Zeus married her to the God Hephaestus, god of the fire. Her husband made her a magic girdle of finely gold. When she put on the magic girdle, no one could resist her. She loved glamour and happiness and it wasn’t very cool to be Hephaestus’ wife.

She had some mortal lovers, the most famous was Adonis. She also had some sons:

Anteros: He was the god of the passion. He was the Eros' brother, the god of love. He is also the god who punished the people who reject love.

Hymenaios: He is the god of marriage ceremonies, feats and song. He must attend every wedding, if he didn’t, then the marriage would be a disaster. He presided over many of the weddings in Greek mythology.
